For 52 years family-owned and operated Faema Caffè has focused on providing customers with the authentic experience of a European café, as well as showing them how to recreate that experience at home.
It all started with a simple craving, one short espresso. Upon his immigration, Faema Canada founder Mike Di Donato was in search for what he knew as coffee, espresso. After importing a single commercial espresso machine and installing it in his garage he felt he had satisfied his craving, but this was only the beginning. Mike began to miss having the fresh pasta, pizza and dolci he was accustomed to, this sparked his vision to bring a taste of Italy to Canada. The European café is defined by its simple values, fresh food, fine ambiance and good espresso. In order to create an authentic European experience only the finest equipment would suffice, there was no room for compromise. This led Mike to importing and distributing a variety of the highest-grade restaurant equipment and ingredients. Today his philosophy is still intact and carried on by his four sons who still strive to provide only the most authentic taste of Italy in Canada.
The Freshest Ingredients
We believe that fresh, healthful ingredients make for good tasting food. Every day we make our fresh dough using spadoni flour “doppia zero” imported from Italy to create the best Napoletana pizza. Our gelato is homemade onsite, using “MEC 3” products, imported from Rimini, the gelato capital of Italy. You can rely on Faema Caffè to provide authentic, traditional Italian food right here in the heart of the city. "Come and taste the difference!"
